Welcome, I am UdayaPriya Maikandan from New Jersey. I am an Elite Certified One Stroke Instructor and a fine artist who enjoys working on a variety of surfaces, including glass, ceramics, wood, fabric, and silk.
With over 20 years of experience as an artist, I have been exploring and creating silk paintings for the past 10 years. I enjoy experimenting with different silk-painting techniques, including Batik with wax, Gutta resist, and free-flow techniques. I love the way silk dyes flow and blend on the fabric, creating beautiful and unexpected effects. The free-flowing nature of silk painting gives me a wonderful sense of creativity, freedom, and happiness.
My silk paintings have been displayed at the 2022, 2024, and 2026 SPIN Festival (Silk Painters International) in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and several of my pieces have been sold.
I continue to explore silk painting through my artwork and enjoy sharing this beautiful art form with others through classes, workshops, and paint parties.
